Thru-Hike: Pacific Crest Trail.

In 2018 I packed my bag, grabbed my camera and thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Some called me crazy for carrying my full-frame Sony A7 and heavy glass for all 2,650 miles from the boarder of Mexico to Canada. Many photos are imperfect, decorated with specks of PCT dirt that coated my lens most days. But I wouldn’t change a thing.

During my thru-hike of the PCT, not only was I able to capture beautiful images for myself, but I had the privilege of working with the Thru Hike Syndicate and snapping some pretty rad photos for amazing brands.

Landscapes.

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of traveling to some pretty wild places on our beautiful earth. Whether it was a short weekend trip, extended solo road trip, or a far away plane ride… I’ve always had my camera in hand.

Outdoor Adventure.

I’ve always felt at home in the outdoors. As cliché as it sounds, exploring new places and pushing myself mentally and physically in the outdoors brings me a sense of peace I’ve never been able to find indoors.

Growing up in New Hampshire, I was privileged to have the White Mountains as a neighbor. Since my NH days, I’ve ventured further out. From trail running and hiking trips through the mountains and desert, to pushing myself on my bike through back roads and gravel paths— I always try to have my camera in hand.

Portraits.

I like to think of portraits as snapshots of our personality. I’ve been taking pictures of people in my life for as long as I can remember. It all started with portraits of friends and family and a disposable camera flashing. I’ve progressed quite a bit since my disposable camera days, but I don’t think I’ll ever stop snapping photos of those around me.

Lifestyle.

How neat is it that with the snap of a shutter we can capture the essence of someone or something. When I photograph products, I enjoy bringing creative storytelling to the table.

Macros.

Perspective is everything. I’ve always been fascinated how simply taking a closer look at an object can completely change how it’s seen.
